The Flood and Drain Fittings Set 13mm Inlet and 19mm Outlet c/w Mesh Screens include a smaller inlet fitting and a larger outlet fitting.
The smaller inlet fitting is used to pump nutrients into the tray to flood it, while the larger outlet fitting with the extension sits higher in the tray to let it drain out.
Once the nutrient level in the tray reaches the height of the outlet screen, the excess nutrient can drain back to a reservoir.
The extention can be adjusted for more height, and extra extentions can be added for a deeper tray.
These flood and drain fittings have a 13mm barb on the inlet fitting and a 19mm barb on the outlet fitting.
How the Flood & Drain fittings Set 13mm Inlet and 19mm Outlet c/w Mesh Screens Works.
These over-flow Fittings are used for ebb & flow and drip systems.
In an ebb and flow system, you pump the water from your reservoir up to your flood table.
When the water level gets to the level of the overflow fitting, it spills back into the reservoir from the overflow fitting.
In a drip system, you would just use a Fill/Drain fitting to drain the water back to your reservoir from the flood table.
How to use the Flood and Drain Fittings Set 13mm Inlet and 19mm Outlet c/w Mesh Screens.
The Inlet fitting is 13mm standard barb plumbing so it can be connected via poly tubing to a water pump.
Outlet fitting is 19mm standard barb plumbing this is 35mm higher and allows water to rise to this level with any excess water over flowing the screen and out the fitting.
